Proxima Systems, besides marketing standard products, carries out a great many turnkey projects. These include the following successful items
Norvento: Monitoring for hydroelectric power stations
Project description:: System of monitoring, telecontrol and video surveillance for hydroelectric power stations..
Description of customer and busines: The Norvento Enerxia group was formed in 1981, as a company specialising in the implementation of engineering projects for electricity distribution networks.
The group's activity is centred on the exploitation of the renewable resources contained in natural phenomena, such as the sun, water, wind, plants and the sea.
The company has considerable experience in all kinds of installation projects linked with renewable energies: terrestrial and marine wind farms, hydroelectric power stations, photovoltaic solar plants, biomass, marine energy, as well as linked installations such as the electricity interconnection infrastructures.
The Norvento Enerxia group, with its experience in promotion, exploitation, engineering and environment, tackles the operation and maintenance of electricity lines, substations, wind farms, hydroelectric power stations, solar installations, biomass plants and meteorological towers, as an integral factor in optimising the exploitation of their own installations and those of their customers, through the subsidiary company.
Norvento Operation and Maintenance at present maintains 275 MW in renewable energies..
Customer's needs: Among other activities, Norvento OPM deals with the maintenance of hydroelectric power stations, for which it employed maintenance personnel who made regular visits to the installations, involving a fixed cost in personnel and other resources, while with this system it was not possible to know about the state of the generator groups in real time, thus increasing the costs caused by the control visits.
Again, their customers (owners of the power plants) wanted better control over access, wanted to know who went in and out of their premises, and wanted to know in real time about the functioning of the power stations. The Puma Industrial solution is the only one which integrates Security, Telecontrol and Telemetry all together, in a single set of equipment.
Axis Communications: IP home automation for the Axis España headquarters
Project description:: Installation of systems of telecontrol, telemetry, monitoring, access control and video surveillance in an office building.
Description of customer and business: Axis is a company active in the market of communication and information technology, offering solutions of IP video to the professional market. The company is the market leader in IP video, making the change from analogical video surveillance to digital solutions. Axis products and solutions are designed for the surveillance, security and remote monitoring sectors, and are based on innovation and open standards. Axis is a Swedish company with offices in 18 countries and it works with trading partners in over 70 countries throughout the world. Formed in 1984, Axis Communications is quoted on the Swedish Stock Exchange (OMX Exchange)..
Customer's needs: Axis Communications wanted to have greater control over its premises and also the ability to control at a distance any electric device in its new headquarters. With the introduction of the home automation system the company also intended to reduce its energy consumption. Also Axis wanted better control of access, in order to improve efficiency in Human Resources management and improve surveillance and security for its premises. They were interested in knowing who entered and left the offices. The Puma Domo solution is the only one which integrates video-surveillance, telecontrol, telemetry and access control in a single system. And it also sends technical and intrusion alerts by MMS or email.
Cenit Solar: Telemetry for solar plants.
Project description: System for data acquisition and sending alerts for photovoltaic solar plants.
Cenit Solar supplies an effective response to the needs of companies and individuals in the field of energy management, from maximum quality, competitiveness and sustainable development.
As a result of its concern for the environment and aware of the continuous evolution of the energy sector, Cenit Solar includes among its activities an R&D&I department (Research & Development & Innovation), in order to achieve, day by day, better quality and new solutions in the field of renewable energies.
Customer's needs Cenit Solar, Projects and Installations, is in control, among other functions, of all the aspects necessary for the total achievement of an installation: design and engineering, management of subsidies, works management, assembly, start-up and maintenance of the installation.
The multiplicity and heterogeneity of the solar plants managed by Cenit became a problem with two facets: mobility and decentralisation.
The mobility problem: the distance between the solar plants meant that the engineers had to make unnecessary journeys, leading to a clear waste of human and financial resources. And there was still no way to prevent the costs of stoppages in energy production, caused by faults which were impossible to detect unless an engineer visited the plant.
Decentralisation problem: the existence of many different brands of inverters in the market (Fronius, Siemens, Ingeteam, Kako, Xantrex...) made it necessary for the engineers to understand each and every one of the monitoring systems (software programmes) developed by the manufacturers to be used only and exclusively in their inverters.
They needed a solution which would centralise all the plants in a single monitoring system, independently of the brand of inverter.
